Entièrement fait à la main, c’est à dire que les 500 feuilles on étés coupées une par une, pliées et ensuite percées afin de passer le fil de la reliure. Imprimé sur du papier recyclé, deux poids de papier différents. Il n’existe que 50 exemplaires numérotés de cet ouvrage.

And hello again everybody. As you can read in the title, I had quite some work for the past few months. That’s why I didn’t post so much stuff on the blog.

Having a little break last Sunday I made those little exercises on Cinema 4D. Not a big deal but I like those enough to have them as background images on my Mac.

Hello dudes.

Today is a big day. I have finally pushed the export button for my last animation. It’s been a very long work, lots of rendering time, editing and compositing tries, but the most difficult part for me, was the music. I made a big mistake as I didn’t took care of the music in the first place. I first made a version with a Billie Holiday song, very slow, with an old look compositing, but I was bored of this style cause I already did something like it for the BOUH animation. So I made it all over again with some electro and I think it works quite good.

The second video I missed posting on the blog is one about the Ink Drop logo for BHMTH I posted here.

About that, as I thought the black drop was a good idea when I found it, I’ve seen a lot of them around the web in the last months. So I don’t know if it shows a lack of creativity or another evidence that ideas are in the air. I don’t know if I should find something else or stick to it. If you have a thought about that don’t hesitate.

Well, as you imagine, with all those shiny, reflective drops, I could have cooked some eggs on my laptop during render time. But nothing compare to the next animation I’ll post in the week. More drops coming in, lots of, as I was playing with the thinking particles.

I have just realized that I forgot to post here two animations I made at the end of  2010. They are on Vimeo since a while now and I never talk about them on my blog. What a shame ! But that was 2010, a new year is here and I swear I’ll be a perfect dude (the cool thing about internet is that you can’t see my crossed fingers)

So first, this is an animation for Fight the Lazy to play around with the destruction derby. Render time was endless, as usual, but it was fun.

Enjoy. Come over for the second one in a few moment. The animation I was teasing about in the last post will be out in the week due to renders I have to output for a client.

Hey guys !

Looks like I made it to 2011 even if you could have thought I was buried under 6 feet of mud and playing with my new friends the insects. Actually feeding them.

So Happy New Year to the few people hanging around, I wish you whatever you want. For me it will be as always, winning to the national lottery or wake up as an old man living in a mansion in californie, wearing a dressing gown all day… You got it.
As it never happens, I wish to have the money to get one of those 12 core MacPro. I can’t stand waiting hours to have 25 frames anymore.

My friend Olivier told me the other day that we have to update our blogs at least once a week for the next year. I think it’s a good resolution and I will try to make it real. The thing is I don’t want to write just because I have to do it, I prefer to have things to show you, but maybe it will make me do less complex stuff so I can render more than one animation a month.
I know I don’t have render time for my drawings but I have to admit that I didn’t draw since a few months as I do more and more 3D.

Well, enough talk, as always we’ll see what 2011 brings to us and how we manage all this new crap.

Don’t know if someone is still hanging around since the last post in the past century, but anything can happen and I’ve got something to show you.

I’ve just finished a piece of motion for the Five Second Project competition over at the GreyScaleGorilla website. The theme this time was about nightmares. This was good cause I was bored by making animations with my B “drop” logo or the one of Fight the Lazy. I have to upload them also but I wait to have my Vimeo Plus account which should be soon now.

What the f… means Körner Union.

It’s an artist crew composed by Sami Benhadj, Tarik Hayward and Guy Meldem. They play and react with every kind of media. Photography, drawings, video, design, music and I’m sure I forgot some. This morning I was laughing alone again while watching a movie where Sami tries to escape from his furnitures. Dope !

If I’m talking about those guys right now, it’s because I’ve been working with them on a commercial project for the past fifteen days, and this was a great opportunity. I won’t show here the results cause it’s about what I do for a living and I don’t want to have those things around here. Maybe one day I will have enough strength to make a website for all these stuff.

Let’s get back to the point of interest. Those guys are really clever and cool in the same time. It’s really not a boys band where everybody looks the same. Each of them have is own personality and that’s what, I think, makes their work interesting. You never know which guy made that drawing or did that video, this is the goal for being a crew. In most of crews, you know who took care of each work because individuality takes over. This is the kind of behavior they keep away from the thinking process. They told me about the package of rules they have, helping them to stay in the right direction and that everybody around took them for silly dudes.

I’m gonna stop licking their ass now but be sure to head on the Körner Union website, and if you want to see more illustration and commercial stuff (Yeah the devil got them under his right wing) check their agent site also.

As always, dudes from around the world, don’t sit on your bottom and go make that cool idea a real thing. Hope the Körner Union work will motivate you.

Hi everybody !

I’ve been quite busy those last days that’s why you didn’t see any post around here. Lots of work at the agency and some extra stuff like building websites for friends took all my time for the last two weeks. I’m sorry for this break but sometime you can’t manage both of the real and the virtual life together. I couldn’t even have a look on twitter to see what’s going on there, so now I have two weeks of links to dig. Hopefully for me the weather is kind of bad today, like an October sunday, you know what I mean.

On the good side, I just receive my business cards and they are awesome. It was way quicker than I thought, big up to the guy who took care of it. As promised, just the logo with a dot com below it. The back is full blue with no writing. I have to do the contact page on the website before spreading them away now.

I also make some more tries with silkscreening and if it’s still not as perfect as I want, I’m close to it. The Goldorak/Grandizer/Mazinger (pick the name of your country) is witnessing my words and I’ve got some more to come.
